This stunning third-generation Bronco was retained by its original owner until January 2018 when I purchased it for my own collection. Upon getting it home, I did what I tend to do with all of my vehicles: go overboard into making them as good as they can be. In the case of this Bronco, however, even I have to admit I might have done a lot more than the truck needed, but it was just such a great machine that I saw no excuse not to return it to as close to new as I could. After all, there are a lot of third-generation Broncos out there, but very few that truly deliver the experience of seeing and driving a brand new one.
To that end, I had its desirable, factory-original 5.8L V-8 engine remanufactured by my friend’s company, Tri-Star Engines. As a result it now comes with an unlimited mileage warranty through 2/4/2022. The original AOD transmission has also been rebuilt, as has the entire braking system, front suspension and any other system that wasn’t perfect. The factory air conditioning was rebuilt and upgraded to R134A refrigerant by Advance Auto Air, and even the factory Ford radio was removed and fully serviced by a specialist to ensure that it operates as it did when new. The complete exhaust from the engine back is brand new, also featuring a Gibson high-flow SS cat-back exhaust that sounds fantastic. The tires are brand new top of the line Goodyear Wranglers, the battery is new, and the list of updates and servicing goes on and on. Suffice it to say this is a turn-key truck with no excuses.
Further, in its largely factory original factory black paint (I had the hood refinished due to rub marks from an aftermarket hood deflector, and the inside of the tailgate refinished to remove scratches from loading over the years) over a fantastic deep red interior, this Bronco is heavily optioned with the heavy-duty suspension, quadruple front shock and a rare factory swing-away outside tire carrier, and it also comes with its factory owner’s manual and books.
