1966 Shelby GT350 Ivy Green 4-Speed – Unrestored!

by

In 2017 I rescued this incredibly original, two-owner, low mileage, factory 4-speed, Ivy Green ’66 GT350 from its multi-decade hiding spot in Los Angeles after its 2nd owner, who purchased the car in 1976, passed away. Soon after getting 1147 back to Wisconsin I sold it to a friend who in the years since has had it completely dialed in mechanically by Craig Conley at Paradise Wheels, including rebuilding its original numbers matching engine. When I purchased 1147 it had 49,000 original miles, and proving that it is a magnificent road car, today it shows 62,000 original miles as my friend has put 13,000 trouble-free miles on it during his 8 years of ownership!

But the best part of this life-long California GT350 (6S1147) is its original spec. Green. 4-speed. No stripes. 10-Spoke Alloy Wheels. It remains, today, in fantastic unrestored condition with wonderfully patinated paint, a near flawless original interior, and is fully numbers matching front to back, top to bottom. In 2018 a T5 five speed was installed for high speed touring, and it is currently wearing painted Magnum 500 wheels, which are available to the next caretaker if they prefer this look, and of course the original T10 and shifter convey as well. Oh, and it also has a wicked cool 1960s Ford quad gauge that has been in the car since the 1970s, and it currently sports an original 1966 “over the counter” Shelby wood steering wheel (a $5k+ accessory today) plus the original Ford plastic wood GT wheel is included as well. There is also an “unobtainium” 1966 Mustang AM/FM radio in the dash that was installed many decades ago.

I’m just finishing up a full detail and mechanical once-over, but 6S1147 is on site here in Milwaukee and now available for purchase. Rarely will the opportunity to be the 4th owner of an Ivy Green, no stripe, factory 4-speed, unrestored ’66 GT350 with airtight provenance, all of its original components, in beautifully unrestored condition present itself.

Price: $235,000
