1965 Jaguar E Type FHC Benchmark Unrestored

Vehicle Description

This is unquestionably one of the finest unrestored S1 E Type Fixed Head Coupes in existence.

I purchased this first-year 4.2L S1 FHC from the estate of its original owner in early 2015. He purchased it new in 1965 for the sole purpose of showing it in JCNA Concours events. It was never a daily driver, and is reported to have never been wet. The center console is adorned with JCNA dash plaques for various concours wins, starting in 1965.

With this care, and just 23,000 original miles from new, it is quite simply a time capsule. Its 100% original factory applied paint (guaranteed) is nearly flawless with virtually no degradation as is common with 52 year old original paint. It appears as-new. The original interior is similarly flawless as you would expect, with supple original leather and virtually no wear. The chassis shows its perfectly preserved original red paint, finishes and plating- something unheard of with even the best E Types.

I have every piece of factory literature from new as well as its complete original book and tool sets. The original spare has never been down.

Mechanically the car is also as-new. Upon my purchase just over $12,000 was spent carefully going through every system to return the car to the road. It runs and drives as you would expect, and simply like no restored E Type could.

Simply put this is a benchmark preservation level Jaguar to which all others can be judged. If you appreciate unrestored cars and desire the finest you’ve just stumbled upon a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
