Classic American Muscle Car

This incredible W-30 is one of my favorite cars, and as many of you know it has been one of the stars of my secret stash for quite some time. I have many fond memories of a friend's 1971 442 W-30 from my younger days, and this car is the result of a long search for a great 71 ! I know most people prefer a 1970, but to me, the 71's were a little better car with the available M22 "Rock Crusher" transmission (just can NOT beat that sound!), and the lower compression but equally strong W-30 powerplant.

It is 1 of 247 4 speed W30 Hardtops produced for the 1971 model year, and more than likely the ONLY black M22 car built. Is there a better color combination on a W30 hardtop than black with white stripes, no vinyl top, and a black interior? The skunk stripes and red W Machine wheel wells just knock you out - it is a subtle yet highly sinister package!

This particular W-30 is a two-owner (original owner 1971-1989, second owner 1989-2005) car with just 23,000 original, documented miles! 100% unrestored and untouched with the exception of a high quality repaint by the second owner shortly after his purchase, as the original lacquer paint was checking. Thankfully, even at that time everybody knew the value of this car's originality, and the original paint, decals, etc. were preserved in all of the door jambs, under hood, and in the trunk. In fact, the original spare has never been down and the original trunk mat is still covering the mint original splatter paint! All factory inspection marks, stamps, and decals are preserved, including ink stamps on the alternator , firewall, etc. It runs and drives like a new car and I enjoy the heck out of it!

One very interesting feature is the factory heavy duty two-plate clutch. I have never seen another Oldsmobile with this rare factory option, nor has anybody else I have spoken to. It is listed on the original factory window sticker, and obviously still in the car.

Documented on the original window sticker and with the other original documents included are the following factory installed options on this very special W-Machine:

M22 HD Close Ratio 4 Speed (aka Rock Crusher!, an impressive $287.60 option)

G89 HD Anti-Spin 3.73:1 rear axle

Center Sports Console

AM/FM Stereo Radio

Rocket Rally Pac Gauges with Tic-Toc-Tach

W37 Two-Plate HD Clutch

U80 Verba-Phonic rear seat speaker

Door Edge Guards

SoftRay Tinted Glass, all windows

Variable Ratio Power Steering

Hood Lock, Interior Remote Operated

W30 W-Machine Package

...all adding up to a staggering original MSRP of $4791.75!

Sold new from Milad, Inc. Oldsmobile on 4-3-1971 to its original owner, Mr. James M Meschke; who sold it to its second owner Mr. Larry Andrasi on 4-12-1989 with 18,575 miles on it. I purchased the car from Mr. Andrasi in May of 2005 with just over 20,000 miles on it. Both previous owners are available to verify the cars history if so desired.

This time-capsule car has its original window sticker, build sheet with W30 coded on it (beware of "W30" cars with build sheets that do not specifically state "W30" as this one does!), all books and Protect-O-Plate, and I also have a copy of the original owner's title from 1971. It goes without saying that it is fully numbers matching - and I don't mean "numbers matching" like some people throw around loosely, I mean this car has its original, factory installed, no BS 100% original, unaltered, unrestored, no stories drivetrain, body panels, interior, and every nut, bolt, screw, and trim clip it left Oldsmobile with. I absolutely guarantee and will put it in writing that this car has its original engine, transmission, distributor, carburetor, rear axle, radiator, and W30 components - no restamps, no reproduction junk, no fakes or made up junk. Yes, I will put that in writing!

This is the actual car that was used to create the Exact Detail Replicas 1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 1/18th scale model (Exact Detail #307). It is also featured in the book "Muscle" by David Newhardt, as well as representing the month of June, 2008 on the 2008 16 month Muscle Car calendar from Motorbooks International. This W30 was also featured on "Musclecar TV" with yours truly putting it through its paces, which you can see by clicking on the link below.

I do not think there is a better optioned or finer original W30 M22 4 speed car in existence. I have owned this beauty for almost 4 years and, like all of my cars, it is tuned, sorted, and detailed to perfection. Out of all of my cars I was sure this would be the last to ever get sold, but, the growing pains of a rapidly expanding business has dictated the sale of some of my private collection. This is a rare opportunity for an astute collector to add one of the best examples of one of the best muscle cars to ever roll out of Detroit.

Don't hesitate!
